A New Quilt Showing Different Ways to Sew Triangles
This self-taught quilter of 25
years is always searching for an easier way to pick the right fabric for the next quilt.

Greetings,
By popular request, I am embarking on a new quilting video.
The informal survey said that you all were interested in triangles, so we have triangles.
Not like a thousand pyramids triangles, but triangles nonetheless. There are half-square triangles, quarter square triangles, and isosceles triangles. Some of the isosceles triangles are pieced (the ones in the star points in the blocks in the center of the quilt), others are one piece of fabric (the triangles in the inside border).
Actually, this quilt offers opportunities for different kinds of triangles, and has given me a chance to try some different methods for sewing them together that make your results more accurate.
These methods don't necessarily save fabric. But they do save time and aggravation by making the resulting triangles a little more perfect.
The following are video tips showing the triangle methods. In the future, I will post additional video showing other tidbits of constructing the quilt.
This video shows how to sew half-square triangles together using a grid. This will shorten the time you spend cutting and sewing these little pieces, as well as making your finished triangles a more accurate size and shape:
Watch a video showing how to sew isosceles triangles together to ensure that your finished patch is the right size and shape:
This is shaping up to be a fun little baby quilt, and easy enough that a beginner quilter can make it - especially with the step-by-step instructions that are being developed as I make the quilt.
Stay tuned for additional details as the construction of the quilt progresses.
