Attention Quilters!Your Machine Quilting will be so Beautiful, Your Family and Friends will Accuse You of Spending Thousands of Dollars on a Professional QuilterNow you Can Learn How to Get Perfect Machine Quilting Designs from an Expert - Just by Dialing Your Phone. . . and Eavesdropping on a Telephone ConversationFrom: Penny Halgren Dear Friend, While The Machine Quilting Adventure was fun, and we learned a lot about free motion machine quilting, my machine quilting stitching is still pretty shaky. And that is a nice way to put it. In truth, it is difficult to even see any kind of pattern. Yes, there are stitches, but to some degree, they may as well all be stippling stitches - just meandering across the top of the quilt. The problem is that I don't have a zillion hours and the patience of Job to put into the practice that it takes to create beautiful machine quilting stitches. That's assuming I have decided what design to actually quilt. Like most quilters, I have a pile of unfinished quilts just waiting for the time and inspiration for quilting. But, my hand quilting time is somewhat limited these days, and besides (according to Dierdre McElroy) the thread on the market is mostly for machine sewing - stitching quilts and quilting. So, it occurs to me that maybe I should just jump on the bandwagon and do this "machine quilting thing." But, there's still the time to practice and knowing what to quilt. I was stopped in my tracks when I saw this booth at the Houston Quilt Market in November. Right there - it seemed like the answer to many quilters' dreams. Templates for machine quilting. Wow! This would solve two quilting dilemmas. What to quilt, and how to make the quilting look good. Even more than good; maybe even professional.
And it seemed that by using these templates, it wouldn't require hundreds of hours of practice on quilt sandwiches or giveaway quilts. A most perfect solution! So, I watched for a while, and sure enough, they were easy to use. Just place them on your quilt, drop your needle, and stitch away - using the template to guide the needle. What could be easier, make finishing a quilt more fun, and make the machine quilting look like you paid hundreds of dollars to have someone else do it? After all, the goal here is to create beautiful quilt tops and finish them so your family and friends can love and enjoy your finished quilts. I was so excited to share these great templates with you, that I asked right there on the spot if they would provide a guest for our Eavesdrop on a Telephone Conversation call. Joe Cullumber was there, and he immediately said "yes," since he loves quilters and wants to make our lives easy and our quilts beautiful.
As a matter of fact, he was so excited, he wanted to be on as soon as possible. We had calls booked through the end of last year, and January was the soonest. So, next week Joe will join us on our call. Mark your calendar for Wednesday, January 9, beginning at 5pm Pacific Time, 6pm Mountain Time, 7pm Central Time and 8pm Eastern Time. Joe will share practical techniques and ideas with us in our Telephone Conversation. Some of the topics will include:
I’m ready, are you?
We've got a full agenda for the call, and I know Joe will be impressed with our questions about machine quilting using his Quilt EZ templates. These quilting templates come in hundreds - maybe even thousands of designs - and can be used on all different kinds of sewing machines - maybe even your sewing machine. I know I'm going to ask whether I can use them on my home sewing machine. To be an Eavesdropping Quilter is FREE. Depending on your phone service, there may be long distance charges, but you can join us and plan to ask your very own question for no charge. It's just one more way we can provide great quilting information to you. You will need to register, though, so you can get the dial in information and a copy of the Telephone Worksheet. Not to worry, there's no work ahead of the call. The Worksheet is just to let you know what questions I will be asking during the interview so you can prepare your question for Joe. Plan to be with us on January 9 for about 1 1/2 hours. The first hour will be a structured interview with questions developed from the recently conducted survey. After that, the floor is yours and you can ask whatever question is burning in your mind about using the Quilt EZ machine quilting templates. If you are wondering whether these Eavesdrop on a Telephone Conversations are worth tuning into, the quilters who were on a cal last yearl were thrilled with the great information and had the following comments:
Because we know that not everyone is available next Wednesday, let alone knowing that we have quilters on the other side of the globe who probably will be sleeping at that time, we are making available a recording of the call - for a tiny $24.97, plus a few dollars in shipping. By investing in this recording, you get to hear the call as if you were there - even though you might have been doing something else during the live call. You’ll be able to play it whenever you want and as many times as you want to. You can enjoy listening to the call in your car while you are on the way to the quilt shop. Imagine hearing a refresher just before you arrive at the shop and knowing exactly which template you need, and exactly how you will use it once you get home. We all know that telephone calls are fleeting, and it’s easy to forget what was said. And, if you have your very own copy of the call, you’ll never need to wonder whether you missed anything important when your dog barked in the middle, or when the other phone rang. You can't afford to pass up the opportunity to have this information on your very own CD to listen to whenever you want. And, you won't be racking your brain to remember what Joe said. Just a few months ago, I attended a seminar, and was so fascinated with one of the speakers that I ordered a copy of the speech he gave at the event. I was listening to it in my car just last week, and I could swear it was a different seminar. I recognized some of the speech, but there were many parts of his talk that I had totally forgotten - and I took great notes, didn't fall asleep, and wasn't distracted by anyone sitting next to me or across the room Whether or not you were listening to the call, having your own copy of the CD can make your machine quilting experience a most pleasant adventure. And your family and friends will be amazed at the beautiful quilts you will make. Even if you think you'll never want to machine quilt or use a machine quilting template, invest. One year ago, I thought I'd never do any machine quilting. I was a dedicated hand quilter. Since then I have completed The Machine Quilting Adventure and am considering finishing some of my other unfinished quilt tops by machine quilting them. You might decide that you want to try your hand at machine quilting - now that you have more than one finished quilt top just waiting to be quilted. And the Quilt EZ templates might be just the thing you need to finish your quilt. You'll be missing the boat if you pass up this opportunity.
Happy Quilting!

Another cool thing about the Quilt EZ templates is that they have so many different designs, it is just like looking through a book (actually several books) of quilting designs - and you don't have to spend any money on buying any books. You can just go to their website and check out all of the different templates to get ideas for your quilt.
