Dear Quilting Friend,

How many of us are looking for a quilting project that is:

  • Easy to make
  • Goes together in no time at all
  • Makes everyone who sees it say "Wow!"

If you are anything like I am, that is my ideal quilting project. Quilting is something that I find very relaxing.

Although sometimes I am up for a quilting challenge, much of the time I am searching for a project that is easy to make and creates a stunning quilt of any size. It could be a wallhanging, or it could be a king size quilt for a bed.

Just a stroll through a quilt shop book rack will give you the idea that there are many designs that can be created using a simple 9 patch.

But most of them involve changing colors in the patches in the block, or creating an overall pattern in the quilt by placing the color patches in a particular design. Simple, but not very interesting.

I have made a bunch of simple 9 patch quilts including scrap quilts, Irish Chain quilts, alternating 9 patch blocks with heart blocks or tree blocks. But I never thought of sprinkling large squares or rectangles of fabric among 9 patch blocks.

Yet Judy Sisneros does just that in her newest quilting resource, 9-Patch Pizzazz – Fast, Fun and Finished in a Day! Just a glance through this beautiful resource tells the story and how easy it is to make these fabulous designs.

Imagine a rectangle piece of an underwater print showing bright pink coral surrounded by several 9 patch blocks that highlight the vibrant colors and lead you on a path to another large rectangle showing a school of fish enjoying a leisurely swim.

In 9-Patch Pizzazz, Judy demonstrates exactly how to enhance the design of a favorite fabric, so you can create captivating quilts ranging from “sassy to sophisticated.”

Using her simple technique, your quilts will look more complex than you can imagine, and it will be easy for you to make quilts that look like watercolor prints.

Because nobody can make just one of these quick and easy quilts, they have become known as potato chip quilts. And you can zip one out just like a professional quilter once you discover Judy’s shortcuts and creative ideas.

In the How-to-Quilt.com style, author and teacher, Judy Sisneros uses full color photographs of the quilt designs and many of the steps in constructing these quilts. You get to use your imagination on how your fabric will look in your quilt, not in trying to figure out exactly how to put the quilt together.

This is one of the most fantastic resources for beginners and more advanced quilters I have seen in some time. For the benefit of beginning quilters, the instructions are clear, and the sewing is all straight stitching.

No triangles, sewing on the bias, curves or stars. For more advanced quilters, let your imagination run completely wild, and spend time creating a fun design, then zip through the construction; you can share your finished quilt with your friends and family in no time at all.

9 Patch Pizzazz is a great quilting resource that you will use for years to come. Add it to your quilting collection and save money today by getting your copy through amazon.com

Happy Quilting!
